Mobile Cheque Deposit allows you to deposit your cheques from wherever you are! No need to walk the cheque to your local Encompass Credit Union branch or ATM. Just open the Mobile Banking App on your smartphone and take a picture of the cheque to deposit it.

You will be able to see the deposit immediately in your account activity but, like ATM or in-branch deposits, there is a hold on your item and the funds will be available the next day.

At this time, only Canadian dollar cheques can be deposited using Mobile Cheque Deposit.

Both iOS and Android devices are supported.

Mobile Cheque Deposit is safe and secure. It is included in your Mobile Banking App to ensure that your mobile banking transactions are protected and confidential. The app does not store the cheque images on your device. For enhanced security, it is recommended that you use your carrier's internet connection rather than public or free wi-fi connections.

There’s no daily limit or maximum number of cheques that can be deposited in a day. Any cheque up to and including $250,000 can be deposited with Mobile Cheque Deposit.

After depositing your cheque with Mobile Cheque Deposit, just write 'Deposited' across the front of the cheque and store it in a safe spot (in case Encompass Credit Union needs it for verification purposes). After 120 days, you can safely dispose of the cheque by shredding it. You don't need to mail in the physical cheque.
