OUR STAFF'S COMMUNITY INITIATIVE


 

    • Staff members volunteered at the Edgerton Historical Society's Annual Robbie Burns Supper.
    • Wainwright staff helped out with the Wainwright High School Food for Thought program.
    • Hughenden branch staff made burgers for the Hughenden Girls Amisk Curling Club.

    JANUARY 2019


    DECEMBER 2018

    • Wetaskiwin branch invited local students and seniors to sing Christmas carols in the branch.
    • Wainwright branch staff collected new toys for the Wainwright Christmas Wish Campaign and donated an additional $500.
    • Wainwright branch staff put together and delivered 42 Christmas hampers to the Food Bank.
    • Wetaskiwin branch staff collected toys for the Family and Community Support Services Secret Santa Toy Drive.


    • Wainwright branch staff helped out at the Blessed Sacrament School with the Food For Thought program.
    • Several branches donated money to the Food For Thought program.
    • Wetaskiwin & Wainwright branches handed out hot chocolate to parade-goers at their community Santa Claus parades.
    • Wainwright branch put on a Red Friday Breakfast to raise funds for the Soldier On Fund.
    • Wetaskiwin branch put on a Red Friday Lunch to raise funds for the Soldier On Fund.
    • Encompass Staff participated in the Movember campaign raising $1517 for the Movember Foundation and tracked 672.1 Km of Moves for the month.

    OCTOBER 2018

    • The Wainwright branch handed out candy to Trick or Treaters on Halloween.
    • Chauvin branch staff served juice and cookies at the Chauvin School Awards on October 25.
    • Hardisty branch staff presented a cheque for $500 at the Hardisty Slice and Ice Fundraiser in support of the Hardisty Golf Club and the Curling Rink.
    • Wetaskiwin branch presented $1,290 to the Wetaskiwin Food Bank.
    • Encompass Member Service Officers and Reception staff in Wainwright went to the Battle River Lodge to help with their monthly birthday party.
    • The Wainwright branch staff presented $1,500 to the Wainwright Handivan Society.
    • Encompass staff raised $1,290 for Breast Cancer Awareness.
    • Edgerton branch staff helped Communities in Bloom with fall cleanup at the Shady Rest Park in Edgerton.

    • Wetaskiwin branch staff served hot dogs to the young people who came to Youth Unlimited one evening.
    • Fat Cat and Hardisty branch staff welcomed students back to school at the beginning of the month.
    • Wainwright staff donated $1,500 to the Wainwright Fire and Rescue.

    AUGUST 2018

    • PlanWright Financial and Encompass Credit Union staff helped with a BBQ and raised $707.75 for Kidsport Wainwright.
    • The Wetaskiwin branch participated in the Millet Harvest Parade.
    • Wainwright staff took part in the Rotary Golf Tournament in Wainwright.
    • Staff participated in the Irma Daze Parade and won 2nd place!
    • Wetaskiwin and Wainwright branches gave away 2 Children's Playhouses to lucky draw recipients.

    • Wetaskiwin branch had a BBQ and raised over $850 for the Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools Education Plus Fund that helps kids who can't afford to participate in extra-cirricular activities.
    • Hardisty branch participated in the Hardisty Street Fair and Parade.
    • Wetaskiwin staff participated in the Banker's Big Bike Ride and raised $1,561.45 for Heart and Stroke.
    • Edgerton branch staff (past and present) volunteered at the museum during the Edgerton Sports Weekend.

    JUNE 2018

    • Chauvin branch held a BBQ and raised $635 for the Chauvin Scouts.
    • Irma branch held a BBQ and raised $601 for Irma Fire & Rescue.
    • Fat Cat visited two schools in Wetaskiwin handing out freezies.
    • Wainwright branch held a BBQ and raised funds for the Battle River Victim Assistance Society.
    • Chauvin branch staff volunteered at the Chauvin Elks Soap Box Derby and sold popcorn to support the Chauvin Elks Club.
    • Hughenden branch donated $500 to the Shorncliffe Lake Committee of Czar to go towards construction of their new splash park.
    • Wainwright branch's Relay For Life team raised $5,515.95 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
    • Wainwright branch hosted Wainwright Elementary Kindergarten students on a tour of the branch.
    • In recognition of Senior's Week, Hardisty branch staff visited the Hardisty Senior Centre.
    • Wetaskiwin branch staff participated in the Race for Kids raising $1,565 for the Wetaskiwin Boys and Girls Club.
    • Wetaskiwin branch staff volunteered at the Rawhide Rodeo Annual Pancake breakfast.
    • Wetaskiwin branch staff volunteered at 'A Hungry Affair' put on by the Little Slice of Heaven Bakery to help raise money for the Seniors Food Security Initiative.
    • Staff in Wainwright donated $1,500 to the Wainwright Health Centre's Palliative Care Unit to help as they update and expand the comfort room(s).
    • Chauvin branch donated $600 in support of the Wainwright District 4-H Achievement Day Show & Sale.
    • Hughenden branch staff volunteered at the annual Amisk Agricultural Society's Mother's Day Breakfast.
    • Hardisty branch staff volunteered at the Elks Hall Mother's Day Breakfast raising money for the Elks.
    • Chauvin branch donated $50 to the Light Horse Show Committee for the Paradise Valley Agricultural Society.

    APRIL 2018

    • Wetaskiwin branch served popcorn at the Lakedell 4-H Beef Club Achievement Day Show and Sale.
    • The Wainwright branch sponsored the Wainwright Junior 'B' Bisons hockey team.

    • Wainwright branch staff held a bake sale with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.
    • Edgerton branch donated $300 to support the Edgerton Ag Society Pancake Breakfast.
    • Irma branch donated $500 to the Irma School for their Food for Thought Program.

    • Staff wore pink shirts on Pink Shirt Day to support the Anti-Bullying Movement.
