Position Description

The Supervisor, Loan Administration provides direction and leadership to staff, organizes
and directs the loan administration activities to provide support to the retail lenders.  This position is responsible to review and compile financial information for reporting purposes.  Preparation of legal loan documentation as well as the execution and management on behalf of the credit union for all types of loans. 

This full-time, permanent position will report directly to the VP, Information Services.

Duties of this postion include:

  • Ensure loan administration team delivers service to both internal and external members that are in alignment with the credit union's Service Promises;
  • Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees' performance;
  • Recognize employees who perform at a high level and hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior;
  • Represent the credit union by participating in local activities that will enhance the image of the organization in the trading area;
  • Balance and reconcile various internal accounts, ensure documentation is completed accuractely and promptly as assigned;
  • Maintain integrity of loan files, ensure all necessary documentation is current and complete; and
  • Keep current and abreast of changes, updates and amendments to policy, procedures, and legislation as it pertains to this position.

Qualifications Required

Your qualifications include:
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma with additional courses in computer literacy, accounting, lending, and law;
  • Business Administration degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution; post-secondary courses in legal terminology and adult education & training; graduate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada General Studies program is preferred;
  • 3-5 years Credit Union experience; experience with CU loans origination system or loan documentation in other financial institutions or a related field;
  • 6 or more years Credit Union experience; experience with CU loans orgniation systems or loan documentation in other financial institutions or a related field; supervisory experience is preferred;
  • A self-motivated individual who is a quick lerarner and is committed to self-development and personal growth;
  • Effective business communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal; analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills;
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail;
  • Time/priority management; planning, organizing, implementing and skills.
